Grid-Tied Solar to replace  Wind Turbine

When your small wind turbine is destroyed by lightning, sometimes you choose to go solar instead.

  • Date: June 2013
  • Client: Andrew Manthorne
  • Project Type: Residential Grid-Tied Solar PV

About this Project

What do you do when your small wind turbine is struck by lightning? Well, you could replace it with another small turbine – or you might choose to go solar, instead. This client made the choice to go solar.
With plenty of ground space available near the home, and not wanting the installation to be placed on the roof, we opted for a ground-mount array of 5.64kW.
